• information you include in an enquiry or correspondence

Please don't send sensitive personal information through the website contact form unless it is genuinely necessary.

The website may also automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages and information about how you use the site.

I collect and use personal information where reasonably necessary to:

• understand a challenge, opportunity or piece of work you're contacting me about

I won't use personal information for an unrelated purpose without an appropriate reason or your consent.

When you submit the Connection form, the information you enter is sent to Other//Wise so I can respond to you.

The website is hosted by Squarespace, and information submitted through the website may also be processed or stored through Squarespace and the services connected to the form. Squarespace forms can send submissions to configured storage such as email or other third-party services.

This website uses Squarespace analytics to help me understand how the site is being used, including things such as visits, page views and how people find the site.

Squarespace and this website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand website traffic and provide analytics. Some cookies are necessary for the website to function, while others support analytics and performance.

Technical information collected may include your IP address, browser and device information, referring pages and information about how you interact with the website.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings.

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Personal information may be stored electronically through systems used to operate Other//Wise, including website hosting, email, cloud storage and other service providers.

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required for legal, contractual, insurance or record-keeping purposes. When information is no longer required, reasonable steps will be taken to delete, destroy or de-identify it.

I don't sell personal information.

I may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to service providers that help operate Other//Wise, such as website hosting, email, cloud storage or professional advisers.

I may also disclose information where:

• you have asked or authorised me to do so

• it is reasonably necessary to deliver work involving you

• I am required or authorised to do so by law

• it is necessary to prevent or respond to a serious threat or suspected unlawful activity.

Where practical, I will only share the information necessary for that purpose.

Some technology providers used by Other//Wise, including Squarespace and potentially email or cloud-service providers, may process or store information outside Australia.

Where overseas service providers are used, their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy and security arrangements.

If you contact Other//Wise, I may respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about the matter you've contacted me about.

If Other//Wise sends commercial or promotional electronic messages, these will be handled in accordance with Australia's Spam Act 2003. Marketing messages require the appropriate consent, must identify the sender and provide a functional way to unsubscribe.

You can ask to stop receiving marketing communications at any time.

Important: submitting the Connection form does not automatically sign someone up for marketing. I would keep it that way unless we later deliberately add a mailing-list opt-in.

You can contact me if you'd like to know what personal information Other//Wise holds about you, request access to it or ask for information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date to be corrected.

In some circumstances there may be a lawful reason why access cannot be provided. If that happens, I will explain why where appropriate.

Other//Wise takes reasonable steps to respond promptly to suspected loss, unauthorised access or disclosure of personal information.

Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies and a breach is likely to result in serious harm, affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner will be notified as required by law. The NDB scheme applies to entities already subject to relevant Privacy Act security obligations.
